We are partnering with a leading US-based technology company, recognized as one of the most innovative key players in the market. They are building a next-generation platform used by global enterprises to process massive-scale real-time data.

They are now looking for a Principal Engineer to join their core engineering team and help shape the future of large-scale data systems. This is a remote role, working with a world-class international engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale distributed data systems for high-performance, high-throughput data processing.

• Architect and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines using modern big data technologies.

• Drive technical strategy and influence architectural decisions across the data platform.

• Lead complex technical initiatives and mentor senior engineers.

• Ensure system reliability, scalability, observability, and performance in large-scale production environments.

• Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and data teams to deliver cutting-edge data capabilities.

• Contribute to engineering best practices, code reviews, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in backend, distributed systems, data engineering, or platform engineering roles.

• Strong expertise in distributed data systems and big data technologies, such as: Spark, Kafka, Flink, NiFi, Hive, HBase, ClickHouse, Hadoop, Trino

• Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-performance data architectures.

• Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, Python, or similar languages.

• Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, containers, and orchestration (Kubernetes, cloud platforms).

• Experience working in large-scale, high-performance environments.

• Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical direction.

• Fluent in English.
