Data Architect

We are collaborating with an international innovative company operating in a highly data-intensive and real-time environment, currently undergoing a major data transformation journey. They are looking for a Data Architect to define and drive their enterprise data strategy and architecture at a global scale from scratch.

Responsibilities:

• Define and own the enterprise data strategy, architecture, and target-state roadmap, translating business and analytical requirements into scalable and cost-efficient data solutions.

• Own and maintain the legacy Oracle Data Warehouse, ensuring stability, performance, data quality, and business continuity while minimizing technical debt during the transition phase.

• Design and develop modern data platform architecture in Microsoft Azure, including data models, integration patterns, and batch and real-time data processing frameworks in an international trading context.

• Define and execute a phased data migration and modernization roadmap from Oracle to the new target data architecture, including workload assessment, dependency mapping, risk mitigation, and success metrics.

• Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes, ensuring reliability, performance optimization, and monitoring across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.

• Establish and enforce data governance, security, and quality frameworks, including data ownership, access controls, metadata management, etc.

• Collaborate closely with enterprise architecture, business stakeholders, analytics, BI, ML, and software engineering teams.

• Evaluate and evolve data platforms and tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake) to improve scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Grow data engineering and analytics architecture teams, setting technical standards and fostering a data-driven culture.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or advanced analytics roles.
• 2+ years of experience in technical leadership roles.
• Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling (dimensional, normalized, and analytical models).
• Hands-on experience designing and operating large-scale data platforms (real-time processing experience is a strong plus).
• Experience with Azure or other cloud providers and modern data warehouses/lakehouses.
• Solid background in ETL/ELT frameworks and data pipeline orchestration.
• Experience setting up data governance and data management frameworks.
